Between the 11th and 16th of February 2015, the multinational team of the project VirCult “Using of Virtual Reality In Cultural Heritage Education” had their third scanning mission at the Catacombs site of Kom Elshoqafa in Alexandria, Egypt.
The aim of the mission was to document the site with 3D Laser Scanner.
Soon the team will move to another scanning mission.
The results of this work will be used in teaching archaeology undergrad and postgrad students at Alexandria University, Damanhur University, and South-Valley University.
The Team Has members from 11 different entities and Universities from 4 countries (Egypt, Greece, Italy, and the UK).
Architects, Archaeologists, Software Engineers, Academics and Heritage Experts are working together for one goal.
